Recap by The Metal Wulf;
One of the crazier nights in recent memory, we were actually visited for a couple of hours by my long-lost brother Bill...or BILL!!!! as he is known on the show...
Oddly enough, I actually got thrown under the Brony bus by him, as he insisted that I have almost a fully collection of My Little Ponies! Couldn't believe that! I mean, here's the kid who grew up with a Care Bears record!
In all honesty, the only toys I currently collect are stuffed Opus penguins. Those who remember the Bloom County comic strip know what I'm speaking of. Can't help it, I'm a huge fan of that cominc, to this day. And, really, it's not much of a collection...
We also took advantage of Bill's presence to further discuss the Sound Lab, where we'd recently seen Job For A Cowboy, with the general consensus being that the place is pretty much a dive that you don't want to go to after eating Mexican food...

We also saw the return of Jeffie. Honestly, it was only a matter of time.
He brought us up to speed, telling us of the ill-fated fishing trip in the swamp that Joe took him on. Seems that Joe had pushed Jeffie into the swamp, and took off back for civilization. Jeffie took his time in the swamp to supposedly raise an allgator and train it to attack Joe.
As a matter of fact, this alligator was supposedly lurking about the radio station on Friday night, but I'll be damned if I saw it. At one point I thought maybe I'd accidentally flushed it down the toilet, but Jeffie assured me it was a BIG gator...So, in addition to having an alligator companion, Jeffie is also supposedly a zombie again, courtesy of the voodoo priestess, Papa Shango...
Yeah, I know, none of it really makes any kind of sense. And to be honest, I can't really remember the point where things really disintegrated, causing Joe and I to team up on Jeffie by giving him multiple Pit Stops (remember the Nasty Boys? Yeah, ewwwww...)

So, sadly I have to confess that, thanks to the rumors of Armageddon on that day, I gave in and did the Pantless Santa Dance. I just couldn't resist the idea, it sounded pretty damned amusing, so I ran with it. Grinch shirt, Santa hat, silky red boxers with fuzzy white trim all done to the tune of "Skating" from the soundtrack to "A Charlie Brown Christmas"...
Yes, there will be video...
Things really got out of hand when we got Jeffie involved. Funny, really.  After all the times we've been subjected to lap dances from him, I thought for sure he'd have been cool to get a lap dance from one of us. Not so at all. As a matter of fact, by the time that Tim and I were through with him, we'd pretty much broken Jeffie. I honestly wouldn't have thought it possible...

Things really got out of hand, though, when our visit from Satan Claus went terribly wrong. I mean, here's Satan Claus, trying to convince naughty children that they'll be sorry if they can't keep it together on Christmas Day, and all of a sudden, Jeffie attacks us with a tiny little sauce pan. From there more Pit Stops were given, and then Fred took over! Yeah, Fred! As in that dirty old man persona that popped out of Jeffie earlier in the year.
Needless to say, that forced Satan Claus to cut his visit short. Honestly, after that...I think it might be a little difficult to convince him to return next year...

Recap by The Metal Wulf

Well, things got underway just a little later than expected, and it was actually mentioned that there would only be a brief amount of time for actual No Pants Day celebration, since after midnight it would no longer be No Pants Day. But Jeffie assured us that it was now known as No Pants Weekend, so we were apparently in the clear to continue as planned.

So, taking something of a cue from Foul Mouth Girl, who two years ago cruelly deceived us all with her infamous "It's after midnight, so No Pants Day is over..." trick, Jeffie, JustJoe, and Raven were wearing layers of undergarments. Arm wrestling challenges throughout the night would determine who took off a layer. Just think of it as "Strip Arm Wrestling" instead of poker, you'll get the idea...

So, Jeffie and JustJoe both took turns trying to best Raven in arm wrestling matches. Now, those who've become familiar with her over the past few months know that Raven is pretty damned tough, and it was Jeffie and JustJoe who were found on the losing end most of the time, and we had to endure the sight of them peeling down one layer at a time. I'm almost postive at one point that Jeffie was wearing a pair of lacy women's undies. I'll give 'em credit, though, they tried really hard and actually were able to beat her a couple of times.

Jeffie had mentioned a "secret identity" early in the evening, and this was later revealed. Yes, he informed us that he was actually the Undie-Taker...stealing our undies right from under our noses. And, true to form, out of nowhere, some of us started losing underwear...Unfortunately for Jeffie, our long-suffering host, Joe Wyatt, was among those caught sans underwear, resulting in one of the most brutal beatdowns with large pieces of styrofoam that I've ever witnessed. Now, you may laugh, but styrofoam makes one HELL of a mess when you continually bash it into someone's head, and it's almost impossible to clean up, especially when the vacuum cleaner is MIA... Truly, it was a horrible, HORRIBLE sight...

Also of note, and actually very funny, was Foul Mouth Girl's dominance of Josh. We were all wearing shorts, so by that definition alone, we were well within the attire requirements for No Pants Day. But, of course, people started stripping to their underwear, and Josh deciided he didn't want to. Which, in all fairness, is FINE. But, whenever Josh got difficult, FMG would yell out "Take your pants off, Josh!"

And he did, without question, every time! Pretty damned hilarious, to be honest.

Just as amusing was the visit we ALMOST received from Steve Papagiorgio, who apparently doesn't stay up to date with our antics via Facebook, and who didn't see an entire week's worth of No Pants Day promotion, and who decided to visit us on that night! Until he was greeted by Jeffie in a pair of boxer shorts...We tried to get him to come in, we really did, but in the end I think he just couldn't bear the sight of me in a t-shirt and my Batman boxer briefs.

I'll bet he'd have stuck around if they were Darth Vader boxers, though!

Unfortunately, not quite so hilarious, was my...ummmm...episode...or something...that resulted in further trauma, adding to the damage i'd already inflicted last year when the Olaf personality took over for the first time. The only difference is that this time it wasn't a viking people saw, it was Wulfie...not fully covered in fur...or clothing for that matter...doing the Blue Meanie dance...

...and once again, I am so, SOOOOO sorry...

Recap by The Metal Wulf;
So, after the out of control insanity of last week, I figured we'd be hard pressed to follow that goofiness up for a second straight week.
I was wrong, so terribly, terribly wrong...

The Demon Azkath, Just Joe, and Foul Mouth Girl from The Last Exit For The Lost showed up to honor the birthday of our long-suffering host, Joe Wyatt. We celebrated by doing a variation of a Russian Roulette show. If you're familiar with The Last Exit, you know what I'm talking about. For those new to this concept, allow me to explain:

In a traditional Russian Roulette show, "bullets" are chosen at random from a bag, but only when certain songs are played. These songs usually fall into the category of cheesy, overplayed stuff. Each "bullet" is actually a small slip of paper with a special action or activity printed on it. For example, if Joe had chosen the slip that said Just Joe Hugs Everybody, that's what would happen. And, as I recall, that did transpire. One of the more tolerable bullets, to be honest. Believe me, they can get pretty brutal...
So, in this variation, Joe the birthday boy got to pick a random bullet during each talk break, and got to choose who got to perform the action written on that particular bullet.
Much to Joe's dismay, one of the first bullets to be pulled said that Joe had to play Alice Cooper's "He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask)". Not one of Alice's most popular tracks on our show. Personally, I really don't mind it so much, but Joe can't stand it, so you can only imagine how that went over...
But, in the end, the song was played, and Joe complained that his birthday was starting to suck. And things weren't about to get any better...

The next bullet said "Randy Dances". Now, this was kind of tough, because anything with a danceable rhythm is kind of scarce on our show. However, I had a little brainstorm. There's an old classic rock song called "Black Betty" that never fails to get me moving, and thankfully Azkath had a version of it handy. Yes, that is what I danced to, and I'm thinking from here on in, that song's got to be my official dancing music.
During my performance, it was suggested that I give out lap dances. Joe didn't seem very receptive, though, so I moved on to Will, Lindsey, Kasey, and Josh. Can't really say that what I was doing could best be described as a lap dance, though. More like random humping motions, in rhythm, of course.
Overall, my efforts really weren't appreciated that much.
Amd Joe's compaints continued...

Things picked up on the next bullet. Funny thing is, Josh jumped at the chance to take one more the team when this bullet, which was called "Through The Board", was drawn.
A large, and moderately thin, board was placed on the floor, held up by two cinder blocks. It was then debated as to who was going to go through the board, and how they were going to go through. After much deliberation it was decided that Azkath would actually be the one to go through.
Further deliberation ensued as to HOW he would go through...
Approximately five minutes later, it was finally decided that Rick and I would do a double chokeslam on Azkath. It went pretty well, all told. I mean, Azkath was able to still talk and walk about afterward, so I guess he must have been okay.

Will was the subject of the next bullet, entitled "Hammer Smashed Face". Will had to lie on the floor, holding a Mac Book in front of his face. Azkath then took a VERY large hammer (and when I say large, imagine Viking weaponry...), and proceeded to smash the Mac Book over Will's face. Eventually the book was just left on the floor to be abused as we passed the hammer from person to person. I honestly thought we were going to lose Josh to a full-blown Viking Berserker Rage, and even I started to enjoy swinging that thing just a little too much.
Let's face it, Azkath's got some REEEEAAAALLLLY cool toys at his disposal!

Joe's birthday present from Azkath was finally revealed, much to the dismay of all. Yes, I regret to inform the Metallic Onslaught listening community that a brand new Jeffie has been created and unleashed on our show.
It was all good though, because the newest Jeffie made the perfect subject for the next bullet, which was entitled "DVD Player To The Head". Now, it was around this time that an old guest of ours decided to pop in unexpectedly. UWF wrestler, Jay Flyer, showed up with his security staff, and it was actually Jay's head of security who got to swing the DVD player at Jeffie's skull.
It didn't take long for the real carnage to happen. We ended up with a full-on Onslaught/Security staff brawl, and once the smoke cleared, I found myself holding that monstrous hammer, and wearing that goofy viking helmet that keeps popping up in my vicinity. Oh, have I mentioned that it seems this new "personality" is called Olaf?
Go figure...

Next bullet: Hugs! Yes, Just Joe made his rounds, accompanied by Jeffie, hugging everybody in their paths. To be honest, this was kind of a breath of fresh air, following everything else.

Speaking of fresh, Josh got the opportunity to freshen up Just Joe, because the next bullet requred that Just Joe be bathed. Not sure how that went for Josh. I mean, there IS a shower upstairs, and the two of them went up together, and Just Joe DID come back in his boxers, and with wet hair, so....
I'm guessing it was a success?

Time flies when your having fun, as the saying goes, and the final bullet of the evening once again fell on Just Joe. This one was called "Basement Time", and it was with the promise of cake that Just Joe was lured inside the door behind the basement. He was promptly shut in and told to be careful of the spiders...
I really can't blame Just Joe for screaming like a little red-haired girl with skinned knees. I don't particlularly care for spiders eithes, which probably explains my own screams when he came out of the basement and started hugging me, allowing the spiders to leave his body and crawl all over mine...
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!

And so, it was on that note that Joe's birthday celebration for this year came to a close, meaning this will probably be the last time we experience the Russian Roulette fun for at least another, oh, seven weeks or so, when Bill's birthday rolls around!

Recap by Randy, aka Wulfie

Okay, I'm imagining that anybody who tuned in this past Friday is just as confused as any of us who are actually on the show. I can't imagine for the life of me how there can possibly be another Jeffie roaming around, but once again he dropped in. Now, bear in mind that Azkath said he wouldn't make another Jeffie to send to us, unless we actually asked for it, and also that Azkath has insisted that there can't possibly be another Jeffie running around. Well, it seems that the Demon was actually listening at the right time, and now knows that another Jeffie is on the loose!

Imagine his surprise! Maybe he'll have some insight into this phenomenon the next time he drops in!
Jeffie seemed pretty damned confused,in all honesty. He thought it was my birthday, and I had to assure him that it wasn't. Then he seemed concerned that he'd actually missed my birthday, so we had to also assure him that he had BEEN THERE on the night that we celebrated it! Oh, and he also thought he'd missed out on seeing Shoebox, meaning we had to further assure him that Shoebox had been there on that night as well!
Makes me head hurt just thinkin' about it...
So, the evening consisted of the usual goofiness one would expect when there's a Jeffie around. Poor Bill had to once again watch as his Droid became the object of a game of "What's In Jeffie's Pants", and then some of us had to endure "uncomfortable face touching", not to mention talk of Jeffie's "multi-nippular boobs".
Ugggghhh, nobody should have that image in their heads, EVER!!!!
Shades seemed a little surprised to see Jeffie, going so far as admitting that he'd slashed the tires on Akath's Car. It took him a bit to realize this was NOT Azkath.
Speaking of Shades, there seems to be something contagious about this guy. At one point, no less than four of us (Bill, Lindsey, myself, and of course, Shades) were wearing sunglasses and acting just a bit douche-baggish. Could be a phenomenon worth investigating further...
Gotta say something about Lindsey, here. Most weeks you don't hear a lot out of her, but something about Shades seems to be opening her up a bit more. I mean, this, after all, is the little lady we'd brought on to act as the "Mommy in the Stupid Room", a role that I think she felt to be a lost cause after some honest attempts at controlling the silliness. I'm guessing this is a case of "If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em..."
Really, I figured right along that it would only be a matter of time before the Stupid Room rubbed off on her!
Eventually Shades and Jeffie got into a bit of a scuffle, and it would be a little difficult to say whether or not there was a clear winner. I was just as glad not to get caught up in the middle of it, to be honest...
Actually, I was thinking it was nice to have a couple of weeks where I didn't suffer any sort of trauma, especially to my head, which has been taking some hefty shots recently. Of course, my satisfaction in this regard was short-lived as Jeffie delivered a couple of head-butts to me...
Then, for some reason, Joe ended up telling Jeffie that it really WAS my birthday and suggested I get another lap dance, which really didn't sit well at all with me. I actually fought back this time, and the evening closed with Jeffie seeking safety in the control room with Joe and Rick while I attempted to beat down the door.
Seriously, why can't he just stay dead?

January 15, 2011 - Randy's Birthday / The Return of Shoebox

Listen to the Show * Pictures

Recap by The Metal Wulf; I had a funny hunch that this night would be a little goofier than usual, as they are when somebody's birthday is creeping up. The birthday in question this time?

Mine!

Yes, my birthday was on the 17th, so I was expecting some related fun. Truth is, I desperately attempted to beat around the bush when asked how old I was going to be. At first I was tempted to switch numbers around, but then I realized I'd only be making it worse...

But, yes, you're sometimes furry pal is now 45, and only occasionally feeling it!

I was very pleasantly surprised by a visitor that had been invited by Azkath. A previous regular on the show, Worm Quartet's Shoebox hadn't been in the studio in roughly five years. Understand, now, that my only exposure to Shoebox before Friday night, outside of briefly meeting him at a roller derby event, had been in the form of Best Of DVD's that Azkath had set me up with during my recovery from foot surgery. I spent a LOT of time laughing at many of the segments on those discs, and probably laughed loudest during any segment that featured Worm Quartet. (those are all available on the website by the way, free to watch and download!)

Now, Worm Quartet, for those who may be scratching their heads, is a one-man musical comedy act that has been featured very prominently on Dr. Demento, even garnering the honor of being that shows most requested artist for a couple of years. The material, I must say, is freakin' hilarious, and I strongly recommend it!

So, Azkath, Rick, and Joe were certainly no strangers to Shoebox, although there seemed to be some puzzlement as to where the rest of Shoebox was left. Seems the man has lost a substantial amount of weight, so it was a sleeker version that joined us in the studio. Truth be told, everybody was thrilled to have him back!

One of the funniest moments of the show that night came as we were preparing to play Worm Quartet's "The Ballad of Dr. Stopp". Shoebox was explaining the story behind the song, which is about a little procedure he had done. He was quite descriptive, actually, and the hilarious part is that the procedure wasn't really named in specific terms, although I'm pretty sure it wasn't too difficult to piece together! Azkath then made matters worse by asking even more detailed questions...

Dave Henninger from Spater had also dropped in, promoting an upcoming show his band has with Nine Round this weekend, and also to get the word out that bands submitting for this years' Fingerlakes Metal Fest should get them in soon, as time is runnin' out! That particular event will be in May, the weekend BEFORE Memorial Day, and The Metallic Onslaught will be on hand to emcee the show! Gonna be a great time!

Had a brief visit from Jeffie, who'd gotten hold of some Gold Bond powder, which promptly stank up the entire Stupid Room. Oddly enough, Azkath swears that he hasn't made another Jeffie to send our way, but if that wasn't Jeffie, who was it?

Hmmmm, could Azkath be pulling the wool over our eyes? Or could Jeffie have learned how to clone himself before I killed him the last time?

Seems we've got a bit of a mystery on our hands here...

December 11, 2010 - Poor Wulfie

Listen to the Show

Recap by The Metal Wulf; This night saw us easing a little more into the holiday mode, as we featured some sounds of the season, just done a little on the heavy side! Hey, personally, I kinda like rockin' covers of Christmas standards!

Azkath and FMG were on hand once again, and once again things got a little fuzzy for me before the end of the night. Josh and Rick had both celebrated birthdays during the previous week, and for some reason at a couple points during the evening I was compelled to give Rick a birthday lap dance... Yeah, I know...EWWWWWWWWW!!!! I'm sure it was no picnic for Rick, either... Imagine my confusion, though, when I realized I wasn't fully dressed at certain intervals of the show. Azkath assured me that Bill had hypnotized me and suggested the whole lap dance thing, although everybody else insisted it was Azkath who had suggested it... But he'd NEVER do something like that to me! I'd swear to it!

Things got really out of hand at the end of the night, though, when people started delivering a beat-down on Bill, and for some reason I was once again compelled to dance for Rick. Rick fought back violently, though, and before I knew it I was being thrown toward the storage racks for WEOS's vinyl collection. Didn't quite hit the racks, though, as I tripped over a prone Bill, falling directly into the large, spiky-leafed plant in the corner, where I not only received scratches on my left butt cheek, but I also managed to smack the back of my head on a window sill... ...and also landed on Bill's head... Poor Bill...
